I ran into one of my neighbors at the Marble Falls Auto Show. We both enjoy all kind of automobiles but he is a much bigger fan of NASCAR racing than I am.
Through My Eyes
A photograph is usually looked at, seldom looked into. It need not be explained nor can it be contained in words. It deals in things which are continually vanishing and when they have vanished there is no contrivance on earth which can make them come back. One will never be able to develope and print a memory.

Another "Keep Austin Weird" project. The city wants everyone to pick up their dog's poop so Austin will be a cleaner place. The mound of dirt represents a years poop from dogs at Austin' Auditorium Shores Park. The first time I saw this mound it was a lot larger. We've had almost ten inches of rain since then which washed a lot of the pile away but it still represent a lot of poop.

Texas defeated Missouri 41-7. Even though the game in Missouri was on national TV, the University of Texas showed the game at the Red McCombs Red Zone inside DKR Memorial Stadium. The popcorn was ready for the kickoff and being able to look down the tunnel onto the field made things seem like a real game.

The day was filled with things I did not expect to see. Two different protest marches. One group protesting the death penalty as they marched down Congress Ave and another group of protesters carrying blue balloons protesting greenhouse gases. A long line at the Austin Film festival waiting for director Ron Howard to come out of the theater. A sweet sixteen celebration on the steps of the Texas State Capital. A large group of young children playing music at UT and a group of UT students practicing a dance performance .
Paolo Veronese painted the Petrobelli Altarpiece for a small Franciscan church in 1565. In 1788 the church was dismantled and the Altarpiece was cut up and sold off to different people. This year is the first time in over 230 years that the painting has been reassemble with all the sections of the Altarpiece in one place. UT's Blanton Museum owns the small portrait you see in the center of the Altarpiece. This will be the only showing in the United States for the next several years.

I used lockers and desk just like these when I went to school and so did our former United States Presidents. In the Schooling of Presidents exhibit there were pictures of JFK in his high school graduation rob, check out his shoes. Bill Clinton as a young high schooler playing his saxophone and the exhibit even had the real sax on display. George Bush feeding his pig and Ronald Reagan practicing for the schools swim team.
